Conventions
As you may or may not know, we used to sell anime collectibles at select conventions in the Pacific Northwest. We took many photos of our adventures at these conventions. By 'adventures' I guess I mean getting as drunk as possible and harassing anyone who tried to talk to us.
2001 was our first year attending Sakuracon. We went as regular attendees.
Beginning in 2002, we ran a booth in the exhibitors' hall selling character goods. We decided 2005 would be our last year selling items at the convention because the attendees were not interested in the rare (and usually expensive) types of merchandise we sold.
In 2006, I was asked by sempai (the manager of the hall) to take over management of the exhibition hall because he was tired of doing it (the next year would be his 10th year running the dealers' room). I shadowed him, witnessed much drama, learned that several of the regular exhibit hall staff do not like me (although some do and the feeling is mutual) and decided I could not take his place. Fortunately, someone else with a lot more experience filled the position.
Starting in 2007, superlime and I became programming staff members. We do visuals for the Club Sakura rave-flavored electronic music event. I have also been a speaker on some panels and I usually run around solving minor problems for various people out of the goodness of my heart (awwwww).
